After 4 days sealed in a jar with two beautiful truffles, these eggs from Kate’s chickens will make our lunch today. Omelette aux truffes, to be served with a crusty baguette, a green salad and a glass of crisp, dry Cotes de Gascogne…and followed, hopefully, by ‘la sieste’.
It’s ‘Truffle week’ at Camont (which, as we’ve been joined by Jack Dancy from the wonderful www.trufflepig.com is rather good news!)
Here’s a few pics of what’s being made by Kate and the girls at the moment…much more to come so, keep checking in!!!
Just a little reminder to all you chacuterie junkies out there (‘Charcutapalooza’ seems to have taken over the world!) That Finca Buenvino, where the Spanish side of NLNF is based, is only a few kilometres from Jabugo…the absoloute epicentre of all things ‘jamon’!!!
And, to show you what a difference changing an ‘e’ to an ‘a’ makes…Charcuterie becomes this wonderful CHARCUTERIA in the market in Jerez de la Frontera…
And so, to get us started, here are some pictures from one of Kate’s charcuterie classes at Camont just before Christmas…
Hello everyone…and welcome to the NATURAL LIGHT-NATURAL FOOD blog…we’ll be posting regular updates here as well as giving details of upcoming events etc etc etc…so please keep checking in!
